    Sounds fantastic

  2. DAVE MARKLEY says:

SOOOOO LOOKING FORWARD TO IT DAVE FROM WIGSTON LEICESTER,

  3. Steven says:

Looking forward to it – for me see it i would have to travel to Manchester because it is not coming to my local airport which is Newcastle in the North East. Do you know why it is not coming to newcastle?

    • Rhiannon @Thomson says:

Hi Steven, At the moment there are no plans to fly from Newcastle but if we get any further information, we’ll let you know.

  4. Nicola-jo Randle says:

We are set to fly may 2013 for our mexican honeymoon. Just waiting for the flightextras information to add to our gift list. I cant wait, we really have splurged but hopefully it will be worth it.

  5. Chris Stroud says:

Fantastic news, ilook forward to be able to fly again. I hope your publicity will emphasize the importance of non bleed air technology. TCP exposure left me ill for seven years. Clean air in the cabin space will benifit all.

  6. Ian Brothwell says:

I’m delighted to see that Thomson will get the Dreamliner ahead of other UK airlines.
There’s an error in your information about the Dreamliner’s speed. Mach 0.85 is 640mph only at sea level. At typical cruising levels, where the air is much colder than at sea level, Mach 0.85 will be around 560 – 570mph. Airliners usually cruise around Mach 0.80 – Mach 0.89.

I wish Thomson well with ist Dreamliner fleet.

    Kindest regards, Ian.

  7. karen montgomery says:

I read in one of your inflight magazines that one of the destinations the Dreamliner is being consired to fly to is Puerto Vallarta in Mexico. Is there any news on that as I used to fly there and can no longer do it direct from UK?

    • Hollie @Thomson says:

Hi Karen, The Dreamliner will fly to Cancun and Florida at first and in time more destinations will be introduced. Unfortunately, we don’t know where the Dreamliner will be flying to in the future, but we’ll let everyone know when we do.

  8. Michael Davies says:

When are the first flight from manchester to Orlando due and are the dates confirmed. i would love to fly on this plane and will delay a holiday just to use the dreamliner

    • Rhiannon @Thomson says:

Hi Michael, You’ll find our flight schedule for Florida here – http://dreamliner.thomson.co.uk/flying-schedule/ and the Dreamliner flights are highlighted in blue. What makes you most want to fly on the Dreamliner?

      • Michael Davies says:

We have flown with Thomson for years and will always upgrade to premium economy. The standard is great now so it must be fantastic on the dreamliner and we cant wait to see. The flights will become part of the holiday experience and not a necessary evil of the holiday.

  9. raymond baldwin says:

will thompsons ever go into international flights like new

    • Rhiannon @Thomson says:

Hi Raymond, Your post seems to have cut off at the end. If you can let me know your full question, I’ll be happy to answer it for you. But if you mean destinations like New York, we do have Thomson Worldwide that travel there – http://www.thomsonworldwide.com/

  10. Hayley Jayne says:

My partner and I have just booked a trip to Mexico in may 2013, we are both very excited about experiencing the Dreamliner premium. I’m just wondering as we fly on the 01st may does that mean it will be the dreamliners first flight from East Midlands?

    • Rhiannon @Thomson says:

Hi Hayley, I’ve just taken a look at the flight timetable and it does look like this will be the first flight from East Midlands.

  11. Lisa G says:

Booked my holioday to mexico the weekend they launched the new flight schedule…. only 62 weeks.. so excited (premium cabin as well :D )

  12. Helen Staines says:

    Hi,
Will you be using one of your new Dreamliners to go to the Maldives, and if so, do you know when? I am going to The Maldives with Thomson in March 2013 (my 4th time to the Maldives with Thomson). Thanks

    • Hollie @Thomson says:

Hi Helen, The Dreamliner will be with us from early next year and will fly from East Midlands, Manchester, Gatwick and Glasgow to Cancun and Florida to begin with. We’ll add more destinations in the future, however we don’t have a date for this at the moment. For regular updates, keep an eye on our website – http://www.thomson.co.uk.

  13. Gerry G says:

Do you still have to pay to select seats on the Dreamliner

    • Hollie @Thomson says:

Hi Gerry, Yes, you’ll still need to pay for pre-booked seats if you wish to use the ‘select your seat’ service.

  14. Neil Havill says:

I am really disappointed to see you are not operating the 787 from Bristol to either Florida or Mexico. Does this mean you’ll continue to operate the old 767′s which need a refuelling stop at Manchester on the outbound flights? If so I will continue to use Virgin Atlantic out of London Gatwick.

    • Hollie @Thomson says:

Hi Neil, I’m sorry you’re disappointed. I can confirm that at the moment, the Dreamliner won’t be flying from Bristol. So, the 767′s will still be used on Cancun and Florida flights, which will also need to stop at Manchester to refuel on the outbound flight. The Dreamliner needs a certain length runway, so it may not be possible for it to fly from Bristol.

      • Neil Havill says:

Thanks Hollie, Thomson from Gatwick is always an option of course. Probably of limited interest to anyone else but for the record Bristol Airport’s runway is one of the shortest international runways in the UK at just 2,011 metres (6,598 ft).

  15. Welshlad says:

Goingto Florida May 13th 2013 from East Midlands on the Dreamliner in Premium Club,I am very very excited about being one of the first passengers on the Thomson 787 :)

  16. Patrick OHalloran says:

Yay. Just booked our flights on the Dreamliner from Manchester to Orlando for May next year. So looking forward to experiencing the 787.

  17. wendy says:

We have used thomsons many times flying from Manchester to Florida. We are looking to go again on 06/09.13 will the flight be a Dreamliner because we are taking our parents for their first visit and want it to be special. Please can you tell me why there is a vast difference for premium upgrade from one day to the next when searching for flights, also it states on the Dreamliner flight schedule that premium seating is £199, a lot less than the £320 quoted when searching for flights.

    • Rhiannon @Thomson says:

Hi Wendy, It should say on your confirmation whether you’re booked on the Dreamliner but our flight schedule will also show you whether you’re booked on the correct date as the flights are highlighted in blue – http://www.thomson.co.uk/editorial/editorial-downloads/thomson-florida-flight-timetable.pdf.

In regards to prices, they can vary from what may be in the brochure as these are just a guide price and they can go up and down depending on a number of factors.

I hope you have a fantastic family holiday in Florida next year.

    • lou says:

We booked our premium seats the day after the brochure came out and the seats were £225 then, and they’ve been steadily increasing since. I sincerly think that its worth the money even at £300+ pounds because nine hours is a very long time on the plane and my hubby doesnt enjoy being cooped up so its worth it just so he’s happy.

  18. Rachel says:

I have just read the comments and I booked from newcastle with the knowledge it will be the 787 dreamliner it even showed the pictures am really confused now. That was the point in booking was to be on the dreamliner.

  19. lou says:

We are flying to Orlando next september and we will be on the Dreamliner – WOO HOO! We are hugely excited to be in the premium cabin too, sooooooo looking forward to the legroom!

  20. Kerry says:

We have booked 6 premium seats to Orlando for may 2013. Is the seat plan available yet or any confirmed pictures?

    • Rhiannon @Thomson says:

Hi Kerry, We don’t have a seating plan available at the moment but as soon as we do, we’ll try to post this on our blog.

  21. Kayla says:

Hi, we have just booked to go to florida 07/06/13. Will this be on the dreamliner? My flight confirmation says TOM 126 however on the dreamliner flying schedule the flight no is 13020. Could you please confirm. Thanks

    • Amarita@Thomson says:

Hi Kayla, I’ve just checked for you and this does look like it’ll be a Dreamliner flight.

  22. Sharon says:

I am trying to book a flight from the Thomson website, but it states flight no. TOM 586 on 14th May, but the dreamliner states flight 13015. If I book this, will we be guaranteed on the dreamliner? Thanks

  23. Izzy Manpo says:

Hi, will there be any *special first flight* of the Dreamliner for passengers (ie. a short local flight) before scheduled operations commence ?

    • Hollie @Thomson says:

Hi Izzy, Are you referring to an internal flight before our first flights in May 2013? ^Hollie

      • Izzy Manpo says:

Yes Hollie, I know sometimes airlines with new aircraft provide *experience* flights prior to going into scheduled service

Just wondering if Thomson had any plans to do something simliar

        Regards. Izzy

        • Dan @Thomson says:

Hi Izzy, We’re not aware of any plans for this at the moment. We’ll be sure to let everyone know about any activities that might take place before its maiden flight in May.

  24. Rich Marshall says:

Hi – i dont really like flying but today booked a trip to florida next summer form bristol to sandford. I chose premium economy as said i dont like flying and i think this will help, but i today learnt that the plane that currently flies there from bristol is 20 years old! Will this be the case in June 2013 or will it be a newer plane! I fly about 10 times a year but hate it!
    Thanks

    • Rhiannon @Thomson says:

Hi Rich, Our new Dreamliner plane will only be flying from East Midlands, Manchester, London Gatwick and Glasgow from May 2013 so you won’t be on a Dreamliner flight from Bristol. I’m sorry for any disappointment this has caused.

  25. Rich Marshall says:

Oh and regarding my above message, the flight number outbound is TOM644 on 05/06.2013 from bristol to sandford, returning on flight number TOM645 on 19/06/13

    thanks again

  26. Rich m says:

I’m aware but can you tell me what plane it will be please

    • Rhiannon @Thomson says:

Hi Rich, It would be a 767 but our flights are subject to change so we wouldn’t be able to guarantee this.

  27. Rich m says:

I’m scared of it being an old plane! I hate flying.

    • Kirsty@Thomson says:

Hi Rich, The Dreamliner is a brand new plane. Try and keep yourself entertained as much as possible while you’re flying to keep your mind elsewhere. There’s plenty of things to watch on the seat back TV’s. Or you can take your own books, MP3 players etc with you. Hope this helps.

  28. David price says:

Pleased that new routes being considered. Just hope that Puerto Vallarta, the home of Vallarta Adventures who arrange fantastic excursions may be on the list. First Choice used to go there, a resort much missed.

  29. George says:

Hi I have again booked with Thomson to fly to Cancun but delayed it to 23/06/2013 out of Manchester so as to be on Dreamliner. Can you confirm that this will still take place due to all issues with Dreamliner.

    • Joanne @Thomson says:

      Hi George,

We’re still working towards our original delivery dates for our first Dreamliner. We’re liaising closely with Boeing and they’ve assured us they’re doing everything possible to rectify the issues raised.

      • George Halliday says:

I also have booked Premium Seats for my flight to Cancun on June 23 and I also am anxious to know if first the Deamliner will be flying and also if not what happens and also to Premium Seat bookings. George Halliday.

        • Lauren @Thomson says:

Hi George, We’ve not yet been given a new delivery date for our first 787 Dreamliner by Boeing. Our priority is to ensure you go on holiday and we’re, therefore, putting contingency plans in place including using alternative aircraft for our long-haul flights to Mexico and Florida if delivery is delayed beyond the end of March.

  30. mac housley says:

im booked up for mexico in may 2013, i’ve sent four e-mails requesting information about what happens if the 787 is still grounded as we’ve upgraded to premium seats, still had no reply from thomson, most disapointed with thomsons staff,

  31. jan says:

Hi are the new dreamliner plane still being released 1st may ? as we are traveling to cancun on the 3rd may 2013 this year. because thats why we booked these date so we could fly on the new plane thanks jan

    • Christina @Thomson says:

Hi Jan, We haven’t received any communication from Boeing regarding changes to our scheduled delivery dates, and are still working towards flying our first Dreamliner on the 1st May 2013. Boeing have assured us that they’re working to rectify the issues that have been highlighted to them. I hope this helps reassure you.

  32. Mary says:

Hi, can you please tell me if the dreamliner will be ready for our holiday to cancun in Mexico June 8th.As we booked this holiday with going on the Dreamliner if it isn’t ready would we be able to have our money back?
    Regards mary

    • Joanne @Thomson says:

Hi Mary, We’re currently waiting for a confirmed delivery date from Boeing. This is why w’re working on contingency plans now. Should we not receive our Dreamliners in time, customers holidays will still go ahead and they will travel on an alternative aircraft. As soon as Boeing confirm our delivery schedule, should there be any customers impacted, we will immediately contact those customers to confirm all details.

  33. Larry Jones says:

When will you need to receive the Dreamliner in order to fly it from 1st May 203

    • Samantha @Thomson says:

Hi Larry, Boeing has not confirmed the Thomson Airways delivery schedule and we’re still waiting for a confirmed delivery date from them. As soon as we have further information, we’ll be back in touch. ^Sammi

      • Michelle C says:

Samantha, I asked this question also and did not get a proper answer. Mr. Jones did not ask if you had a confirmed delivery date but when do you need to get the plane by in order to fly it in May???? I.e. you need it 2 weeks before to get things ready etc……… Please can you give an answer to the question asked. Thanks

        • Dan @Thomson says:

Hi Michelle, For the latest Dreamliner news please see our most recent blog post.

  34. Larry Jones says:

Sorry, my question was at what point will you instigate the contingency plans. You must have a cut off point. What, for example, do you do if you still do not have a delivery date on the 30 th April.

    • Dan @Thomson says:

Hi Larry, For the latest Dreamliner news please see our most recent blog post.

  35. marrrgaret says:

hi larry I have been contacted by thompson this morning my may flight on the dreamliner has been cancelled. the may flights are now on the 767 hope that helps

  36. George Halliday says:

Hi I am booked to return from Cancun on 07/07/2013 and have been told it is at this time still the Dreamliner. Can you confirm same as I have Premium Seats booked and specific seat numbers allocated and do not want to lose same.? George

    • Samantha @Thomson says:

Hi George, We haven’t yet had a confirmed delivery date from Boeing regarding the delivery of The Dreamliner. At this time no decisions have been taken regarding our July and August flights as we are still awaiting a delivery date from Boeing. As soon as we have further information, we’ll keep all of our customers updated.

  37. Joshua Taylor says:

Will the eventually fly the Dreamliner from bristol. I read an article that included an interview with chris Browne, it said they would do new flights to Costa Rica and Hawaii. I want to know when and are they flying from bristol.

    • Leanne @Thomson says:

Hi Joshua, We haven’t got information on our new flights at the moment. Our new flight availability will be released on the 25th April 13.

  38. Joshua Taylor says:

Does anyone have information on new flights, I can’t wait until tomorrow when it will be announces

    • Dan @Thomson says:

Hi Joshua, Our holidays will be on sale in the next couple of hours so you’ll be able to see all the new flights.

  39. Thomas says:

So are the dream liners flying from bristol? If they are where are the flying to? If not then what are the reasons for this?

    • Lauren @Thomson says:

Hi Thomas, Our Dreamliner’s won’t be flying from Bristol, only London Gatwick, East Midlands, Manchester, Newcastle and Glasgow at the moment.

  40. Vanessa says:

Are there any plans in the future to fly a Dreamliner from bristol? Will their be other international flights using 767 from bristol with improved frequencies?

    • Lauren @Thomson says:

Hi Vanessa, We’ve no plan to introduce this flight route. However if this were ever to be introduced, we’d let everyone know.

  41. Andy says:

TOM126 on June 21st from Manchester, flying as a 767 at the moment, will it be a Dreamliner?
